This week’s 850Strong Student award winner is making a splash

LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A freshman at Mosley High School is making a big splash as this week’s 850Strong Student award winner.

Chase Peterson is on the Dolphin’s swim and dive team, as well as a member of the debate club, yearbook staff, and pre-med program.

Chase enjoys learning about the medical field, putting public speaking skills to use in his debate club, and using his creativity in yearbook.

His English Honors teacher describes him as having a 100% positive attitude, which Chase says is easy to do when he is surrounded by such great people at school.

“I like to surround myself with kind people that are really influential in my life,” Chase said. “Talking to them, being with them, kind teachers and teachers that really influence me is such a useful thing to have in my life. To have such kind, influential people that you can consistently talk to. That’s why I like school because I have that outlook.”

Chase has big dreams of becoming a psychiatrist and opening his own practice.
