HCA Florida Healthcare Network launches new Consult-A-Nurse program

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - One Florida healthcare system wants to help make sure its patients can always reach out for help no matter the time of day.

HCA Florida Healthcare recently launched a new statewide program called Consult-A-Nurse.

When consumers call the 24/7 line, they’ll speak with nurses, who will provide quick expert care advice and support. It also provides a resource for consumers who have questions about any symptoms or illnesses they may be having.

”One of the things we wanted to provide was continuity of care. And so ensuring that we got our patients where they can be best served. So we have these nurses available to provide that service and provide just that. And not only for our adult patients but also for pediatric patients as well,” Dr. Brittany Durr, HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital Chief Nursing Officer, said.

The new, statewide Consult-A-Nurse line number is (844) 70-NURSE (6-8773).
