A strong Buccaneer is this week’s Student Athlete of the Week

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) -Nate Webb, a senior at North Bay Haven has been a standout on the football field, as an all state running back, and on the platform, just finishing out third in the state for snatch in the 219 class, but he also a standout in the classroom. ”You’ve got to have grades first.” Nate tells us. “Grades come before sports. You can’t have the grades, you can’t have the sports, so I make sure I always have good grades, and it’s always fun to come out here and compete.” Next year, Nate will head to Virginia to to play football at Bluefield University, signing his letter of intent last week. “You can’t have bad grades and get anything, so I’ve always kept my grades up, kept it first, and just done sports after.” Nate holds the school record for the clean and jerk, setting the bar high for those to come. “Being my senior this year, he’s going to be a big loss. " says North Bay Haven weightlifting coach Aaron Paille. “Mentally and physically, I’m going to be losing almost a part of me at this point.” As for his future? “Lots of college football, lots of weightlifting,” Nate says “but more importantly, a great future citizen for our society.”
