Ribbon-cutting held for Veterans Housing Solutions
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Tuesday for Veterans Housing Solutions in Panama City.
The non-profit organization is dedicated to providing support and stability to our nation’s heroes and their families.
Tafoya Sutton Sr. said it has been a dream of his to bring this opportunity to his hometown. He served in the military for 3 decades and says this is personal to him.
“I was homeless even though I work for the federal government. So this is personal for me. I have a special place in my heart because I can sympathize. I understand in my heart with passion, what somebody else with empathy, what they are going through because I went through it,” said Sutton.
Sutton told us that a space like this is needed in the community due to the high military presence in the area.
