FREEPORT, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Volunteers and community partners have teamed up to bring comfort to local foster youth across the Florida Panhandle.

Through a partnership with the Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club’s Sassy Sisters, the “Cases for Kids” program through Northwest Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation packed a record 100 bags for foster children in Okaloosa and Walton counties.

Founded in 2022 alongside a former foster youth, the “Cases for Kids” initiative aims to ease the traumatic transition children face when removed from their homes.

Each bag is filled with toiletries, a blanket, a book, a teddy bear, and an encouraging note to remind children they are loved and not defined by their circumstances.
