BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Five award-winning science fiction and fantasy authors made an appearance in Panama City Tuesday night.
‘Lasers and Lagers’ was held at the Lie’brary on Beck. The event allowed area readers to connect with writers from their favorite genres for conversations and drinks while raising money for the friends of the bay county public libraries.
Guests enjoyed a variety of activities ranging from author readings and Q&A sessions to a raffle offering chances to win signed books, memorabilia, and other prizes.
”Me and a bunch of writers from Chris Kennedy Publishing got together and decided that we wanted to do an event here in Bay County,” said Ian J. Malone, one of the authors, “I’m from this area originally, so are a number of our other authors. So, when it came time to put something like this together, we knew here is where we wanted to have it.”
“I’d like everybody to be involved, whatever means something to you, make it better. We wanted to make the library a little bit better by doing what we can... find something important to you and make a difference,” said Chris Kennedy, President of Chris Kennedy Publishing.
