Panama City Beach, Fla.
Brooke Richardson is joining WECP as the weekday meteorologist.
She was recently with our sister station WTVY as the weekend meteorologist/reporter. While at WTVY, she covered Tropical Storm Gordon and Hurricane Michael. She was located in Port St. Joe during Hurricane Michael, where she discovered the panhandle’s hospitality and love for one another. Brooke gained a respect for weather at an early age, while helping with her church’s disaster group during tornado cleanup in Alabama. She realized how much storms can forever change people’s lives in an instant.
Brooke graduated from Florida State University in three years with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Meteorology and a minor in Mathematics. During her time at FSU, she was able to study abroad for a year in Panama City, Panama and England, UK. She was able to travel to many countries during her year abroad and some of her fondest memories from her travels was running a 5k in Panama City, Panama with a futbol “soccer” team, climbing the highest volcano (Volcan Baru) in Panama, traveling to Scotland and exploring England’s pubs.
Brooke is looking forward to living in Panama City Beach because she loves the area, the beautiful beaches and of course, the people here. She loves to work out, run and hike with her dog “Nado” (short for tornado).
