Ron started at WJHG in May 2014 and co-anchors the weekday evening newscasts.

Ron was born in Anaheim, California and raised in Orange County. Prior to WJHG, he served as the weekend anchor and a weekday reporter at WOI, the ABC affiliate in Des Moines, Iowa where he won an IBNA (Iowa Broadcast News Association) award for his work. Previously, he anchored at KLEW, the CBS affiliate in Lewiston, Idaho. Ron also worked for both the Orange County Register and Honolulu Advertiser newspapers. In addition, he spent time anchoring and reporting for Comcast Cable in Southern California.

Ron graduated summa cum laude from California State University, Fullerton with his bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. He received his Master of Science degree in journalism and mass communication from Iowa State University where he also taught the newscasting class as a graduate assistant.

In 2016, Ron won first place from the Florida Associated Press of Broadcasters in the Light Feature category and again in 2020 from the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists . In 2019, he won first place for best Series/Franchise reporting and again in 2020, awarded by the same two organizations respectively.

When he's not working, Ron loves working out, politics, watching Westerns, horse racing, listening to Audible novels and watching his beloved Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on the Internet. Ron also loves playing basketball.
