Health professionals give free physicals to students

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Doctors and physical therapists from Bay Medical Center Sacred Heart and ResortMed gave free physicals to 80 students Thursday.

Organizers set up screenings at Arnold High School in Panama City Beach, and this will likely be the last screening event until Fall.

They say they're working under the direction of the Department of Health in Bay County to help students and parents save time from going to the doctor's office. Students are required to pass a physical before they can be a part of a sports team.

"Everyone of those participants added something of great value to make this possible so it's really a neat collaboration of multiple organizations in the community teaming up with the local schools to do something that's needed," Dr. Frank Merritt said on behalf of Resort Med.
