OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A 14-year-old is in serious condition after a crash in Okaloosa County Tuesday.
According to Florida Highway Patrol troopers, Christine Kline, 43, was driving her truck south on State Road 285 near Mile Marker 10 at around 2:30 p.m.
Tabith Chesnut, 19, and her 14-year-old male passenger were in the norhtbound lane.
They say the hood latch on Kline's truck was not functioning properly which caused her to cross into the other lane. Kline then crashed into Chesnut. The car rotated and overturned.
Chesnut suffered minor injuries and the 14-year-old was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
Kline is charged with failing to maintain a single lane of travel and operation a motor vehicle with unsafe equipment.
