MEXICO BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Tuesday, Mexico Beach city council members voted to move forward with the possibility of having Bay County provide fire rescue services.
The city council voted unanimously in favor of the motion.
Tuesday was the first reading of the potential law.
City leaders tell us the city was in danger of getting a low ISO or Insurance Service Office rating.
We're told Bay County commissioners also have to approve the idea.
After that, the Mexico Beach city council will have a second public reading, before it can become a law.
