PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A Bay County beach is under a health advisory.

The Bay County Health Department issued an advisory for Beach Access 41 on Front Beach Road in Panama City Beach. It's marked SP 5 on the map above.

The advisory was issued after water samples showed a high enteric bacteria level at the beach access. Enteric bacteria levels are impacted by storm water runoff, pets and wildlife, or human sewage. The high bacteria level could cause gastrointestinal illnesses, upper respiratory infections, skin rashes, and ear infractions.

The health department says this beach advisory is not related to necrotizing faciitis, also know as the flesh eating disease.
