Alan Thicke dies at 69

Alan Thicke, best known as the dad Mike Seaver on the 1980s sitcom "Growing Pains" has died at the age of 69.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP)-- Alan Thicke has died according to the website TMZ.

TMZ writes "Thicke had a heart attack while he was playing hockey with his 19-year-old son, Carter. He was transported to Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center around noon and pronounced dead there."

He is survived by three sons – Robin, Brennan and Carter – and his wife Tanya.

The Canadian-born actor was best known for his role as Dr. Jason Seaver, the dad on the ’80s sitcom “Growing Pains.” He was on the recent Netflix reboot, “Fuller House.”

But Thicke was much more than just an actor. He wrote several famous TV show theme songs for “Wheel of Fortune”, “Different Strokes" as well as “Growing Pains.” He also hosted game shows and talk shows.

Thicke was 69.
