Allegedly stolen church windows returned, Pastor says it was a misunderstanding

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The stained glass windows allegedly stolen from Trinity United Methodist Church in Millville were found, but it turns out they weren't actually stolen at all.

A former member of the church had thought it was being looted and took two of the stained glass windows for safekeeping. After seeing the story on the news last night, the so-called "thief" informed the pastor of the windows' whereabouts.

Pastor Jon Laughlin said, "If you think about it and look at the hole there and all of these windows that are gone, of course, they thought somebody was taking something. So it turns out I was the thief and the looter and they were just protecting the windows."

Pastor Laughlin says the person who took the windows had actually paid for them as a memorial for their family before the hurricane destroyed the church.
