Alyssa Sutton is the 850Strong Student of the Week

This week's 850Strong Student of the Week is Alyssa Sutton.

She is a sophomore at South Walton High School and the Magnet Innovation Center.

At the Magnet Innovation Center, she focuses on engineering. Alyssa loves math and science and is a part of many academic clubs.

One club she has taken on a leadership role with is the math honor society.

Alyssa has become a strong female force in a male dominated field, and she hopes to inspire other girls to do the same.

"One of the main things that I want to help in my community is to tell those little girls that even though it is a male dominated field, and even if you are told that it is not a job or career suitable for woman or girls which I've personally been told and a lot of my peers have, is that, the way that it is male dominated is not something that should deter you from it, it is something that should motivate you to overcome that obstacle," said Alyssa.

Alyssa plans on pursuing either chemical or mechanical engineering.
