If you're looking to catch a flight to more locations in the United States, Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport will soon have more direct flights available for travelers.

Thursday morning, airport officials announced American Airlines will offer non-stop flights starting June 7th. The airline will have daily direct flights to Charlotte Douglas and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airports.

Airport officials tell us this deal with American Airlines has been in the works for several years and they're excited to offer more flight options.

"We're not going to sit back and rest on our laurels. We're going to continue to take this success and use it as leverage to work with other airlines to continue to enhance the air service to our community," said Parker McClellan, airport executive director.

American Airlines is the world's largest airline and will join Beaches International's other airline carriers: Delta, Southwest, and United.
