A few weeks ago we told you about Archie, the dog who was found after having a jug stuck on his head for three weeks.

Newschannel 7 checked in on him Friday, and he is doing better, according to St. Joseph Bay Humane Society.

Archie has gained at least 20 pounds, but he's still skittish around strangers.

"(Thursday) he approached one of our kennel techs, Natasha, and smelled her, so that was a big step and he's learning through love, he gets homemade food every day. Definitely the way to his heart is through his stomach," said Caitlin Godwin, St. Joseph Bay Humane Society.

The humane society will keep monitoring Archie’s progress over the coming weeks.

It is not known yet when he will be available for adoption.
