Bay County Sheriff's officials responded to Mosley High School Thursday morning in reference to an alleged bomb threat made by a student.

The school's library area was evacuated. A member of the BCSO Bomb Squad and the explosive detection dog did a sweep of the area. No bomb was found.

Deputies spoke with witnesses and identified Caden Burse, 17, as the suspect. Witnesses said they heard Burse make a statement in class he had put a bomb in the school library and it was going to explode at 2:15 p.m. Authorities say Burse was also heard making similar statements in the halls of the school.

Officials say Burse admitted he made the statements about the bomb in the library, but it was just a joke. Once it was determined there was no explosive device, students were brought back into the school.

Burse was arrested and charged with Filing a False Report of a Bomb, a felony.
