The Bay County Sheriff's Office is getting ready for Christmas with its 39th Annual Project 25.

Tuesday at the Lynn Haven Walmart, they will have their Christmas shopping from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., and then again at 6:00 p.m.

They encourage volunteers to come out and help them shop for children in need, and the BCSO gives volunteers the money to buy the gifts.

They'll be buying presents for more than 1,200 children in our community. All of the money comes from donations from the public.

"Bring your kids. Show them what the art of giving is. Sometimes we forget as parents that when we give and give and give to our children, they actually don't even realize that there's kids that get nothing, so if you come and show them this family wouldn't have nothing if it wasn't for us coming out shopping," said Becky Johns, Project 25 Coordinator.

Families in need can pick up the toys Thursday, Dec. 12, from the Bay County Sheriff's Office.
