BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - As Florida is headed for a recount for multiple races, the Bay County Supervisor of Elections Office is holding a recount of its own.
The statewide recount is mandated for all counties in Florida.
The process includes checking ballots where people over-voted or under-voted, meaning they bubbled in multiple candidates for the same race or none at all.
Mark Andersen, Bay County Supervisor of Elections, said despite damage from Hurricane Michael, people are determined to go through the recount process.
"People need to remember now that we're starting to see a little bit clearer now, let's not forget where we were a few weeks ago and where we are now. Life's pretty darn good right now so let's just remain, you know, energized and kind as we walk through this public transparency of doing these recounts," Andersen said.
The recount will continue daily until it's completed.
