If you're a people person, Bay County Supervisor of Elections Mark Andersen says he could use your help with the upcoming elections.
Even though he has around 300 people signed up, he needs more precinct election officials on August 30 and November 8 for the Primary and General Elections respectively.
It involves a few hours of training before the elections so workers can learn how to set up the machines, how to use the new equipment, and make the process as smooth as possible for voters.
"It does pay, it's not great pay, but it's good pay," Andersen explained. "If you've got a friend, you can spend 12 hours together just helping to check-in voters, get them a ballot, and help democracy be successful."
If you're interested, or know someone who is, go to the Supervisor of Elections Office on 11th Street in Panama City.
"Thank you to people that worked the last election," Andersen said. "They're the ones that were so successful in the last location. They're the ones that makes this office shine."
