Governor Ron DeSantis signed an executive order this week allowing supervisors of elections to combine voting sites for Bay and Gulf counties.

Bay County Supervisor Of Elections Mark Anderson said this is great for Bay County and is the same course of action they had to use last year after Hurricane Michael. Anderson believes creating "super voting sites" is more effective and cost efficient.

"Voters can go to anyone of these sites they don't have to go to these precincts like they normally would on Election Day," said Anderson. "A lot of voters in Bay County, their precinct doesn't exist any more as far as the building. The boundaries do but the buildings are gone."

The order also allows Anderson to designate one or more early voting sites, have flexible dates during early voting periods, and grants the authority to ensure the public knows of any changes.
