Almost two years later, Bay County beaches are still feeling the effects of Hurricane Michael. That’s why county commissioners voted to move forward with a beach repair project scheduled to begin this fall.
A dredge company will extract one-and-half million cubic yards of sand from off-shore sites and pump it onto local beaches.
The project will be paid for by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and should take three to four months to complete.
