Bay County beaches reopening Friday morning

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Beaches in Bay County are reopening Friday.

Both the Bay County Commission and the Panama City Beach City Council held emergency meetings Thursday morning after Governor Ron DeSantis' announcement Wednesday about reopening the state.

Bay County Commissioners voted to reopen county beaches with no local restrictions Friday.

Panama City Beach City Council members voted to reopen beaches Friday at 12:01 a.m.

Those who go to the beach are still required to adhere to Governor's orders to follow CDC guidelines, such as no groups of ten or more people and social distancing six feet apart.
