BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Bay County leaders held a special meeting Monday afternoon to discuss an ongoing road project.
The County Commission discussed the Front Beach Road Community Redevelopment Area in Panama City Beach.
They approved an agreement between Panama City Beach and the county to ease the burden on taxpayers for future projects with the CRA.
County commissioners say the new agreement will allow the Beach to finish the CRA project while not "breaking the bank" for Bay County taxpayers.
Commissioner Philip “Griff” Griffitts said, “Panama City Beach will be able to finish their project and do a great job in doing it, and now the county can plan for the future budgeting process.”
County commissioners say the agreement shows the amount of money the county will give the Beach over the next few years including a maximum of around $15 million per year for the CRA project.
