BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The code enforcement process this year has been a long and stressful one.
Bay County leaders are amending a nuisance code to help Code Enforcement in their work. (WJHG/WECP)
Now Bay County officials say they're making a change that will give code enforcement officials the tools they need to do their job.
County commissioners agreed to change an ordinance that would amend the definition of prohibited nuisances.
This change will better define what a nuisance is particularly for blighted buildings, like buildings that have siding fall off or broken windows.
Bay County Commissioner William Dozier says this is all part of an effort to better motivate homeowners to cleanup their properties.
