Bay County officials say more than 60 percent of the county's stormwater system is cleaned after removing around a million cubic yards of debris.
Public Works Director Keith Bryant says despite the potential for a major rain event this weekend the systems should work better than before.
Bryant said, "Some ditches we've cleaned we've never been able to clean before. After the storm the permitting agencies allowed us to go down and clean them so we're hoping we see less flooding in some areas that were flood prone prior to the storm."
Officials say the systems in the southern parts of the county are cleaned and they're working their way north.
