Bay County's 10th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony kicks off the holidays

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Bay County's 10th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony took place Thursday evening.

Just moments after 5 p.m., the Board of Bay County Commissioners flipped the switch to the light the county's Christmas tree.

The decorations were a little different this year because Hurricane Michael damaged the two usual trees the county uses, but just like in years prior, the Mosley High School choir and band performed, cookies and hot cocoa kept people warm and full, and Santa Claus was there.

This time, toys were given out to kids across the county from a toy drive organized by Senator George Gainer, Representative Brad Drake, and the county commissioners.
