Bay District Schools hiring director of student wellness

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Bay District Schools is now hiring a director of student wellness.

This position was added to oversee the new staff also being hired like social workers and licensed mental health counselors. (GOOGLE)

This position was added to oversee the new staff that will be hired like social workers and licensed mental health counselors. The director will make sure the new mental health programs are effective and beneficial to students.

The money for the position comes from the Re-Start grant.

Bay District Schools will be reviewing social worker applications and looking to start hiring within the next two weeks.

"This position will be crucial to making sure that we have an effective framework for the schools. It will include areas like mental health, like crisis and threat assessment, and just making sure that we have a very solid, comprehensive program put in place," said the Director of Student Services for Bay District Schools Kara Mulkusky.

Qualifications for the job include experience in schools and a background in the school system.
