Bay District Schools to continue meal delivery service through summer

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Bay District Schools announced it will continue the meal delivery program into the summer.

The summer meal deliveries will start on June 2 and be delivered twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. (BDS)

Officials say they’ve delivered more than 530,000 meals to date.

For those driving the buses to deliver the meals, they say they’re happy to see the kid’s faces again.

Tameka Butler, a bus driver for Bay District Schools said, "It just brings me joy to see those kids happy. To see that they not only want to see the food but to see me.”

Officials also announced Drivers-Ed will start over the summer at Arnold and Rutherford. They say drivers will have to wear masks at all times in the car.
