PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Bay High "Million Dollar" Band took a hard hit when Hurricane Michael swept through.
Most of the wooden instruments were damaged beyond repair and the practice field was torn up by debris.
Bands of 30A raised thousands of dollars for Hurricane Michael relief and $10,000 of that money was given to the Bay High Band to help it get back on its feet.
Nicholas Efstathiou, the Director of Bands at Bay High School, said, "It's a relief. It's a shot in the arm to get you started in rebuilding the band process. We're going to put it to good use. We're going to use it for what we need immediately. We're just going to keep on trucking and keep going. We can't stop because of this wrong note. We have to keep going."
Bands of 30A also presented the check Friday afternoon at Jinks Middle School.
