During the event, families enjoyed a live performance from Scotty McCreery and enjoyed several other activities. Kids were also able to meet and take a picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

People were able to get food and drinks from local vendors and make s’mores at fire pits.

"I really love country music and spending time with my family. This is just a great event,” said Alabama resident Savannah Woodard.

Event organizers said this one of the largest crowds they've ever had at the event. They're hoping many will continue to come to the event.

"They should really just enjoy the memories they created in Panama City Beach in creating this new tradition and celebrating and kicking off the holidays with us here,” said Visit Panama City Beach Vice President of Marketing Jayna Leach.

Friday's event ended with a firework show. Event organizers say they will hold the event again Saturday at 3:30 at Aaron Bessant Park.
