Bicyclist left with serious injuries after hit-and-run in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A hit-and-run on Highway 90 in Jackson County left one woman with serious injuries.

Sunday, around 7:30 p.m., Florida Highway Patrol reported an unknown vehicle was driving westbound on Highway 90 in the inside lane. Officials say Rebecca Lynn Broughton, 36, of Grand Ridge, was also riding a bicycle on Highway 90 in the inside lane.

FHP said the vehicle's left side collided with the bike, causing Broughton to be ejected from her bicycle. The vehicle then fled the scene prior to law enforcement's arrival.

Officials say the unknown black vehicle should have damage to the left side and left side mirror.
