PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Before Thanksgiving Day was even over, some residents got their Black Friday shopping started early in Pier Park.
While Pier Park was officially closed Thursday a handful of stores opened early for Black Friday including Target, Old Navy, and JC Penney.
Most stores opened at 5 p.m. and stayed open until midnight.
Hundreds waited in line for Target to open and just about everyone was looking for something different.
Patrick, who was the first in line at Target, said, "Everyone else got the TVs and stuff, I'm just here for a Nintendo Switch. I've been waiting for a good while and it's the perfect deal, it comes with a free game and I wanted to be able to grab it before this deal was over."
Myrtle Fox, another Black Friday shopper added, "The bargains! We have a big family and Christmas time, you know, you can go ahead and but the gifts."
TVs and electronics were some of the big-ticket items this year.
Pier Park opens officially for Black Friday Friday morning at 6 a.m.
