Burglary suspect arrested after yelling to lead investigator, "Hey dude, nice car"
A man suspected of burglarizing multiple cars in Walton County was arrested after yelling to another man, who happened to be the lead investigator in the case, "Hey dude, nice car."
According to the Walton County Sheriff's Office, an investigator made a quick stop at a CVS in Panama City Beach when Jerald Moore, 37, called out to him. The investigator said he recognized Moore as the man fitting the description of the suspect wanted for multiple vehicle burglaries of Grand Boulevard. They say surveillance video shows the suspect unloading items out of a stolen vehicle into a black Honda Accord.
The investigator called the Bay County Sheriff's Office. Deputies arrived on scene and arrested Moore. Moore had active warrants out of Panama City Police Department for failure to appear. He was arrested August 24th for loitering and prowling.
After Moore was arrested, investigators traveled to the Bay County jail to interview Moore. They say Moore admitted to driving the stolen black Honda Accord in Grand Boulevard.
