Good Tuesday morning everyone!
Meteorologist Ryan Michaels shows the wind chill this morning.
It's a clear start on satellite and radar, but a cold one! Temperatures are down right freezing in NWFL this morning...literally!
We're waking up in the low 30s on the coast to even 20s inland this morning. That's about 5 to 10° colder than yesterday's chilly start and it feels colder in the northerly breeze. Winds are about 5 to 15mph this morning and it's adding to the chill. Feels like temperatures are in the widespread 20s for most, and there's a chance some of our typical cold spots inland may see teens by sunrise! It's the kind of morning where you'll want a few layers, as well as, anything that can cover up your exposed skin. Scarves, mittens, and ear protection are good ideas if you're going to be spending any more time than a quick trip out the door early on this morning.
We will have abundant sunshine to try to help out temperatures and the feel outside today. But it won't do much other than to warm us up into the upper 40s approaching 50° for about a half an hour in the middle of the afternoon. The northerly breeze will be persistent today, picking up to 10-15mph this afternoon. That will keep our wind chills in the 20s and 30s for most of the morning and midday before briefly reaching the low 40s in the mid afternoon. So you'll want to keep the layers with you throughout the day today!
With high pressure overhead today and sliding to the east tomorrow, we'll still have plenty of sunshine in the forecast. But clouds will increase a bit to mostly sunny skies tomorrow and temperatures will start the rebound after one more freezing morning to start off our Wednesday.
It won't be a quick warm up, but temperatures move back up into the mid 50s tomorrow afternoon to near 60 degrees by Thursday as we track our next storm system on the way for the end of the week. Thursday night into Friday morning appears to be our next shot at seeing rain in the forecast before it clears out for the weekend.
For today, abundant sunshine and downright cold. Highs today reach the upper 40s approaching 50° for some on the coast. Slightly breezy northerly winds keep temperatures feeling like the 20s and 30s in the morning to barely reaching the low 40s in the afternoon. Your 7 Day Forecast shows one more freezing morning ahead for tonight and tomorrow morning before a slow and gradual warm up heads our way by the end of the week.
