CALLAWAY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A couple of national companies are showing their gratitude to some of our own first responders.
State Farm and Canary recognized the Callaway Fire Department for their hard work during Hurricane Michael. Each member received a free home security device Thursday to allow them to check on their families while protecting the community.
State Farm and Canary launched a campaign in 2015 called "Protect the Protectors,” which provides Canary devices to police officers, firefighters and other emergency first responders across the country. Since then more than 15,000 Canary devices have been donated to first responders, allowing first responders to monitor everything from movement in their home to changes in temperature, humidity, and air quality.
