JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The sale of the Campbellton-Graceville Hospital is one step closer to being official.
At Tuesday's Jackson County Commission meeting, a representative from a law firm out of Tallahassee asked commissioners to approve the sale.
After reviewing the information, the board voted to approve the sale.
Officials with Northwest Florida Community Hospital are looking to buy and repurpose the Campbellton-Graceville Hospital.
The hospital closed in June of 2017.
"The Board of County Commissioners feel very strongly that it's important that healthcare be returned to the Graceville area and they will do anything they can to support that," interim Jackson County Administrator Wilanne Daniels said.
The official closing on the hospital will not happen until the end of the month.
