Sunday night was a night of remembrance for many people here in Bay County and across the world.

The Compassionate Friends of Bay County held a candle lighting Sunday as part of the world-wide candle lighting for the organization.

70 candles were lit here in Bay County by people who have lost a child, grandchild, or sibling.

They do this on the second Sunday in December every year.

Carol Ladouceur, the Chapter Leader of The Compassionate Friends of Bay County, said, "We, as bereaved families, want to be able to keep our children's memories alive, and so we come and light a candle in their memory to keep that memory alive so that their light always shines."

Ladouceur went on to say she does this for her daughter Kayla who passed away.
