BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Since the hurricane, many businesses in our area have been hiring and to make it easier for job seekers, one organization hosted a hiring event.
CareerSource Gulf Coast held its 15th annual Career Expo at FSU Panama City. More than 30 employers of all different fields were in attendance. Job seekers had the opportunity to meet with employers in person about potential job opportunities.
"We are providing that one-stop shop for job seekers to engage with employers. They get to come and bring their resume, and meet with these employers face-to-face and present their qualifications. Especially since the hurricane, there are a lot of employers that are hiring, and I've heard the term job seekers market thrown out a lot," Communications Coordinator for CareerSource Gulf Coast, Brittany Rock said.
"It's really nice to talk to so many in person. Nowadays everyone is applying online, so, it's really nice to get that face-to-face with employers here locally," job seeker, Stefania Rogiano said.
CareerSource Gulf Coast officials say they will continue to provide resources for both employers and job seekers in the community.
