PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Watercolor Book Club became involved with 'Cedarfield' Elementary School after Hurricane Michael.
For the last six months, they've dedicated their time and money to helping out the school, while also getting the whole Watercolor community involved.
The book club presented a $12,000 check to Cedarfield Elementary Friday to help with recovery after the storm.
Principal Sheila Wojnowski said the partnership between the school and book club has been "phenomenal".
Wojnowski said, "It really does help, you know, we want to teach them to be independent ultimately, but it means something for them to see people on a regular basis, the stability of having someone care, to not just throw money at something but to actually take a personal interest and actually come in and actually spend time with them and actually build relationships."
Wojnowski said they have great plans for what they'll do with the donation.
