Coast Guard member arrested after allegedly pulling gun on Uber driver

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A member of the Coast Guard is facing charges after he allegedly kidnapped his Uber driver.

Panama City Police arrested Alex Bolano, 27, of Panama City Beach, early Saturday morning.

Police say Bolano ordered an Uber from a bar in Parker to take him to Panama City Beach. They say once he got inside the car, he pointed a gun at the Uber driver's head and threatened to harm him.

They say Bolano forced the driver to take him to the places he wanted to go and hit the driver several times with the butt of the gun.

Police say at the intersection of 15th Street and Frankford Avenue, Bolano got out of the car. Police say the victim was able to subdue him until police got to the scene.

Bolano is charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Arrest reports show Bolano's occupation as the Coast Guard.
