LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) The Compassionate Friends of Bay County had an exciting day Monday. The group poured the first concrete for a new Children's Memorial Garden inside Kinsaul park in Lynn Haven.
The first sidewalks were poured today, and children were asked to put handprints in the cement while it was still wet. (WJHG/WECP)
The group asked local children to come and put their hand prints in the wet concrete to help dedicate the memorial to those kids we have lost.
“It's just going to be really nice because it's going to be like a dedication. This is what this is, a children's garden. It's a memorial garden, but it's a christening. It's a good thing. It's for well-wishing and good luck,” said Sandra Harrison, co-leader of Compassionate Friends of Bay County.
In the near future, Compassionate Friends hopes to pour more concrete around where a fountain will be placed in the center of the garden, and they will be inviting children to come and put their hand prints in that cement as well.
