BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The holidays have come and gone which means it's about time to take your Christmas tree down if you haven't already, but before you toss it in any old dumpster, Bay County officials are asking you to consider recycling it.

The county has set up four locations where you can drop your tree off.

Commercial businesses are asked to take their trees to the Bay County Waste-to-Energy Facility located at 6510 Bayline Dr., Bayou George, Fl. or the Steelfield Landfill located at 11411 Landfill Rd. Panama City Beach, Fl.

Residents are advised to dispose of their trees at the Sherman Avenue Recreational Complex at 2117 Sherman Ave. Panama City, Fl. or Harder's Park at 7900 John Pitts Rd. Bayou George, Fl.

"These will be taken to the Bay County incinerator where they'll be incinerated and used to create power or energy that will power thousands of home so it's a great opportunity to do something good," Bay County Spokesperson Valerie Sale said.
