Crews battling fire in Gulf County

GULF COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - UPDATE 10:16 p.m.:

According to Florida Forest Service, the fire is at 200 acres and 30% contained. Officials say the fire is in the deep woods and difficult to reach. Officials say they have seven tractor plow units and two heavy Dozer units making a path to the fire.

Officials called in a helicopter from Tallahassee to drop several buckets of water on the fire.

If you are traveling through the area and see smoke treat it like fog.

UPDATE 5:55 p.m.:

Forestry officials say the fire is now 100 acres and 30 percent contained.

Multiple units are battling a fire in Gulf County's Indian Pass.

According to the Florida Forest Service, the fire is at 80 acres and is 20 percent contained.

They say multiple crews are working to put it out and an airplane is also over the fire.
