BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Bay District Schools board members approved a daycare program at Tyndall Elementary School at Tuesday's board meeting.

Students with parents who work on base will be able to attend the program. Students whose parents aren't military will be taken to Parker Elementary school for Bay BASE.

It will be a before and after school program.

"Tyndall Air Force Base contacted us about a month ago, they were scrambling trying to figure out what they were going to do for daycare for their school-aged children, and they just have so few alternatives," said Superintendent of Bay District Schools Bill Husfelt.

This plan won't cost the district any money.
