BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Deane Bozeman School is set to turn on the Friday night lights for its first home game of the year, but they’ll be doing so with a heavy heart after Caroline Long, a senior at the school, was killed in a car accident on Sunday.

The school honored Caroline at its pep rally Friday before the first home football game this season and will honor her during the game as well.
A GoFundMe account was set up in her name earlier this week and has raised more than $3,000 so far. According to that GoFundMe page, her family was displaced due to Hurricane Michael and the family says they are discussing a scholarship opportunity.
“There’s a scholarship that’s being formulated for the soccer team, also towards journalism since she was the editor of our yearbook. So they’re formulating scholarships in her memory so it will live on for many, many years to come and continue to show the impact that she had here on our campus," said Assistant Principal Ivan Beach.
A celebration of life will be held at Wilson Funeral Home this Saturday from 12-2 p.m. They’ll receive family and friends and the service will start at 2 p.m.
