Demolition and debris removal deadlines approaching for Mexico Beach

MEXICO BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Demolition and debris removal by the city of Mexico Beach is soon coming to an end.

City officials say February 15th is the last day for residents to submit a form to have the city pick up debris from private property and after the 22nd the city will no longer demolish any homes or structures.

They say up until this point they've been able to demo buildings through FEMA reimbursement.

After the 22nd those wishing to still demo any structures will be able to do so but it will be left in the hands of the homeowners.
