Deputies: Man arrested after becoming disruptive during church

HOLMES COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A Chipley man is facing charges after disrupting a church Sunday.

Holmes County Sheriff's Deputies say Tristan Viers, 22, became disruptive during the a local church service. They say he went into the church and began arguing with someone inside. They say he also grabbed and tugged on a small child.

They say the church's safety team, which included off-duty law enforcement officers, were able to quickly get Viers outside the sanctuary where deputies met them.

Deputies searched Viers and say they found a bag of meth. They say they found more meth in his truck and a loaded hunting rifle.

Viers is charged with possession of meth within 1,000 feet of a place of worship, narcotic equipment possession/use, disturbing the peace - school, religious, lawful assembly, possession of a firearm during a felony, disorderly conduct, and aggravated child abuse.
