Lynn Haven Police are investigating the death of a person whose body that was found in North Bay Friday morning.
Investigators say a call to police came in at 7:47 a.m. about a "pedestrian on or near the Bailey Bridge who appeared to be impaired." Police arrived two minutes later to help Bay County Sheriff's Office Deputies who were already on scene.
Five minutes later a "a white male subject was seen unresponsive in the water under the bridge." Rescuers got a boat and took the man's body out of the water and started CPR, but the man died at the scene.
Crime scene tape could be seen setup on the south side of Bailey Bridge near Porter Park.
By 9:30 am the body had been removed and all police had left the scene.
LHPD & BCSO are conducting a joint investigation to try and identify the man and the circumstances that led to his death.
Right now, police tell us they think the cause of death is drowning, but an autopsy will have to be done to confirm it.
If you saw this person walking on Highway 77 or the Bailey Bridge this morning, you're asked to call Investigator Steve Enfinger with LHPD or Crime Stoppers.
